The Timeless BMW 3 Series of the 90s

The BMW E36 is a popular vehicle among various target groups. Since 2020, the earliest generations of this series are already considered classic cars. The E36 3 Series has always been appreciated for its smooth and powerful driving characteristics. Spare parts are readily available, and repairs are straightforward. The models were offered with both four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines. Due to their reliable technology and agile driving characteristics, these BMW 3 Series cars remain highly interesting for enthusiasts of both youngtimer and oldtimer categories and tuning supporters.

While the "regular" E36 models range from 82 to 193 horsepower, the M3 version, depending on the variant, can deliver up to 321 horsepower.
Back then, the M-package included:

  • A sport suspension.
  • 16-inch double-spoke wheels.
  • Leather sports seats.
  • A color-matched aerodynamics package is standard.

With a top speed of 250 km/h, the M3 is the fastest version in the E36 series.

Which Coilover Kit is the Perfect Fit?

The KW V1 and V2 are coilover kits for those who want simplicity. Both products are part of our Street Performance line. The V1 coilover kit allows individual lowering and has a preset damping setup. The V2 shares the same features and additionally allows further rebound damping adjustments.

Our most popular coilover kit for the BMW is the KW V3. This product offers the ideal balance between sportiness and comfort. The damping is already ideal for your vehicle upon delivery. If needed, you can adjust the compression and rebound damping as desired. Depending on the setting, the damper will compress or rebound more quickly or slowly.

On the Track and Street in Clubsport Mode

The KW V1, KW V2, and KW V3 are coilover kits for street use. For those who like to take their car on the racetrack, the KW V3 Clubsport is the right choice. This sports suspension solution extracts the best lap times from the BMW 3 Series. Additionally, you can adjust the damping setup in the low-speed range of both compression and rebound. The low-speed range determines how precise the steering response is, influencing the car's handling. With the KW V3 Clubsport, these parameters are perfected. The Clubsport suspension from KW Suspensions also shapes the noise level and braking behavior.

The significant advantage of this coilover kit is its road approval (parts certificate) for E36 models from 1992 onwards (Compact models not included). Despite its use on the racetrack, the KW V3 Clubsport is legally drivable on the street.

The Perfect Solution for Ideal Driving Behavior

Depending on the product variant (except for the KW V1), our coilover kits allow individual compression and rebound damping adjustment. Compression damping affects how quickly the damper compresses in response to road stimuli. In contrast, rebound damping regulates the damper's extension speed, allowing you to influence the comfort or sportiness of your ride independently. Take control and experience the road like never before.

Height Adjustability for Individual Tuning and a Sporty Look in the BMW E36

Experience the ideal road position with our individual lowering options in the BMW E36 coilover kits. With the V1, V2, and V3, the front axle can be lowered by 40 to 80 millimeters and the rear axle by 30 to 60 millimeters. The M3 (E36) allows a reduction in ground clearance by 30 to 60 millimeters on both axles. You decide whether your car gets a subtle or showy lowering.

High-Quality Craftsmanship and Longevity

All our products share extraordinary quality. We ensure you enjoy your coilover kit for several years using only high-quality materials. The V1, V2, V3, and V3 Clubsport are made of stainless steel to guarantee corrosion resistance. The trapezoidal thread on the housing, combined with a polyamide threaded ring, allows for lowering adjustment even after years of use.

If you opt for the KW V3 Clubsport, the adjustment range changes slightly. The lowering options are as follows:

  • BMW E36 Sedan, Cabrio, Touring, Cabrio (model years 1990 to 1998): Front 50-80 mm / Rear 50-80 mm
  • BMW E36 Compact (model years 1994 to 2000): Front 40-80 mm / Rear 30-60 mm
  • BMW E36 M3 (model years 1992 to 1999): Front 35-55 mm / Rear 15-35 mm
